Microbattle is a fast-moving arcade game
set deep within the human body. You control a white blood cell
and fight infection. If you succeed, your patient
will be cured. But be careful! Bacteria, viruses, and even the patient's
own tissues will pose grave dangers to your efforts...
|
|
Your white blood cell has the ability to
eat viruses - but only those of the correct color. Use the
left and right mouse buttons to change to the correct color.
Eating the right color refills your energy, but touch the
wrong color and you'll take damage!
|
|
|
During the game you'll explore the body, gathering ATP to improve
your energy and proteases to improve attack power. You'll need
all the power-ups you can get to deal with the waves and waves
of enemies! There are
time attack rooms, where you must defeat all enemies before
time runs out, and other hazards like deadly walls.

Microbattle was built for the Ludum Dare 48-hour
game programming competition in April 2004. Design, code, graphics, music, sound
and level design are by swt. The post-competition version has been
modified to fix bugs and improve the gameplay. Microbattle is written
in the Python programming language,
using the Pygame modules.
