Trouble Shooter
Trouble Shooter is a quick, chaotic space combat game. You control a ship by thrusting and turning (as in Asteroids or Starscape),
shoot various critters, and pick up capsules which help (or hurt) you. I made this game for a Ludum Dare 48-hour game programming contest.
It's not particularly polished, but it's playable and fun in small doses. The theme of the contest was "random", so I aimed at capturing
some of the feeling of a rogue-like game (random objectives, random powers, and of course, random objects which have awesome or catastrophic
effects). However, the game may have quite a bit TOO MUCH randomness at once... Years later I played a game called Transcendence, which is a
far better take on the "Nethack in Space" design idea.
Here is Trouble Shooter - it requires Python and Pygame to play. Unzip and run Trouble.py to
experience the awesome excitement (or rather, moderate amusement) of this game.
